Lisa's career began in Toronto conducting regulatory, insurance fraud, financial crimes, and intellectual property investigations, including complex undercover operations. After moving to Vancouver, she led a corporate investigations team for a decade at Canada’s leading national firm, overseeing complex and high-profile national investigations involving regulatory misconduct, insurance fraud, financial misappropriation, and intellectual property concerns. She also specialized in due diligence and corporate intelligence investigations for mergers, acquisitions, initial public offerings (IPOs), and other matters involving securities and gaming commissions, professional sports leagues, and major television and broadcast networks. A notable career highlight was working with government and corporate stakeholders on safety and security operations for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Transitioning to the public sector, Lisa spent seven years with the BC Financial Services Authority, where she managed market conduct investigations within the financial services sector and was appointed as a Special Provincial Constable in British Columbia. Her work involved regulatory investigations of real estate licensees, property managers, real estate developers, credit unions, insurance companies, and trust entities. She established and led an investigations team dedicated to consumer protection through voluntary compliance and regulatory enforcement actions.
Since 2022, Lisa has focused on workplace investigations, addressing complex cases involving bullying, harassment, discrimination, professional misconduct, and workplace violence. Lisa also provides workplace assessments to address conflict and potential risks with proactive and actionable recommendations. Her work spans public, private, and non-profit sectors, including unionized and non-union environments. She contracts with federal and provincial government agencies, educational institutions, and regulatory bodies, applying a trauma-informed approach to ensure a fair and inclusive process.
Lisa’s credentials include an Honours Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Toronto, an Investigation and Enforcement Skills Certificate from the Justice Institute of British Columbia, and the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist designation. She has completed training through Workplace Fairness International, Certified FETI (Forensic Experiential Trauma Interview), The Forensic Practice (StepWise 360: Interviewing Trauma Survivors), Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada, Office of the Ombudsperson Province of BC, Workplace Institute, and Council on Licensure, Enforcement & Regulation (CLEAR). She is an active member and BC Chapter Co-Convenor of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI). Licensed as a Private Investigator in Alberta and British Columbia, Lisa is also a member in good standing of the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) and the ACAMS Vancouver Chapter.
